I've tried running Steam in admin mode, adding steam's IP's to my system's host file and flushing DNS, and I've tried disabling Windows Defender and still no luck. The only solution that has worked for me is to just restart my PC and everything will launch fine. Origin will do the same thing, but other applications such as Discord and Google Chrome work fine. I'm not really sure why this is, but it seems like some sort of connection issue to me. I've been having this reoccurring issue with Steam, that sometimes after either starting my computer, or if my PC has been on for a while, when I go to open steam it gets stuck checking for updates.
